Week 1 Recipes: Rice
Rice
Ingredients and Materials
- Rice and Water should be a 2:1 ratio. I normally do 1c water : 1/2c Rice
- Salt
- A little oil to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan
- a saucepan and lid
Recipe
- Pour water in pan and bring to a boil.
- add a little bit of oil. I usually fill the cap about half full
- add rice and a pinch of salt. stir
- Reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer for 18 minutes DO NOT UNCOVER
- Rice should have absorbed all of the water by now. if not, recover for a few minutes
- Stir. I usually add a little butter at this point for flavor.
- Serve immediately or store for later
